East Berkshire

East Berkshire Primary Care is a mutual company commissioned by the East Berkshire Primary Care Trusts (Bracknell Forest, Slough, and Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead) to provide urgent out-of-hours medical care when your doctor's surgery is closed.

West Berkshire

WestCall is the organisation that provides urgent NHS GP services to all patients in Berkshire West during the times that normal GP surgeries are closed. It is an organisation within the NHS that is managed by the PCT and has its offices and Central Operations Room at Wokingham Hospital.

Walk in Centres

Slough NHS Walk-In Centre

Slough NHS Walk-In Centre is situated at Upton Hospital in Slough, which is a 5 minute walk from the town centre. A nurse-led service, with opening hours of Monday to Friday 8AM to 8PM, Weekends 9AM to 5PM.

Reading Walk-In Centre

Reading Walk-in Health Centre is located on the first floor of the Broad Street Mall in Reading town centre and offers a wide range of GP-led services.

Reading Walk-in Health Centre is an 8am to 8pm service, open to registered and unregistered patients with or without an appointment, 365 days per year. Please note that after 5.00pm on Sundays when the Broad Street Mall is closed, entrance to the Centre is only possible using the door near to Burger King.

Berkshire West PCT was formed on 1 October 2006 as a result of the merging of Reading, Wokingham, and Newbury and Community PCTs.

They provide health services in the community, at home and in hospitals. It is the Primary Care Trust’s job to spend public money on helping you stay healthy, making sure you can see a GP or other primary healthcare professional or get hospital care when you need it.
