Berkshire NHS Priorities
|
Welcome to the Berkshire Priorities website; here you can read and download all our Policies and Minutes. You can access them via the ‘View the policies’ link to the left. Or you can search for them via the search policies link. Our minutes are also available via the Minutes link. The Berkshire Priorities Committee and are both committees of representatives of the NHS organisations in each county and include lay members as well as clinicians and managers. The purpose of the BPC and OxPF is to advise the local NHS as to the health care interventions and policies that should be given high or low priority. Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) are under a statutory duty to promote the health of the local community. They are also under a duty not to exceed their annual financial allocation. This inevitably means that, from time to time, hard choices have to be made. The Priorities Committees help PCTs choose how to allocate their resources to promote the health of the local community. Individual cases are considered by the respective PCT. Many new policies have been added and old policies updated or republished, some polices however are still being reviewed. This is an ongoing process. If the specific policy you are concerned with appears to be out of date you can contact us using this , (please ensure that you detail the policy name, or number) we will then contact you regarding the policies current status. For general enquires, suggestions or comments about this site join our mailing list, you can do this by clicking here.
